Initial Visit
During the initial visit, we discuss the scope of the project, budget, design and color in general terms. Usually, this visit takes 1 hour, with no charge to you. Typically the cost of the project is provided at the initial visit or by the next day. Once you are certain our company is right for you, we require a 50% down payment to schedule the project and initiate a detailed discussion of color/design. When necessary, a sample board will be prepared to show the design/colors. This is so adjustments can be made before we go to the walls/ceilings. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the project.
Color/Design Planning
People are very surprised how the right colors, textures and/or pattern can transform a space. Color washing, frottage, and sponging are techniques will create a mood or illusion of texture on a plain wall.
You can choose to have texture added for something more real by using venetian plasters, textural plasters or crackle finish that add to the charm. Distressing and antiquing glazes can also add interest for old-world charm and elegance.
These custom faux finishes can be applied to cabinets, furniture, walls, ceilings, railings, mouldings, fireplaces and canvas. The possibilities are infinite.
Pricing
Many clients ask why faux finishes cost considerably more than straight-painting of walls. There are many reasons, but most often it is because faux finishes are primarily hand applied and can consist of 2 to 8 layers. Therefore more time, knowledge and specialty product costs cause the price to go up. Generally, cost will be 3 to 6 times the cost of straight-painting.
